Compete.com provides interesting research for sports

Posted on Wednesday 26 December 2007

Thanks again to Micropersuasion for mentioning Compete.

My first impression is that it’s kinda like a combination of Alexa and Hitwise, sort of. Here’s a link to online sports insights from Hitwise analysts.

I read a bit of Compete’s blog…this post on the Fantasy Sports Phenomenon is pretty interesting.

Here’s more of Compete’s take on sports.

I need to study it more closely. I invited Hitwise to my Sports Marketing 2.0 Summit, but haven’t heard back yet. Maybe I should invite Compete? I never heard of them before today!

Just for fun…

I ran this random comparison of our colts.com site with PrilosecOTC, and NFL sponsor that does successful online promotion called “Season of a lifetime sweeps.”

I’m trying to reach the good folks at P&G / PrilosecOTC to discuss ways we could work together to promote their brand(s). Who knows? Perhaps this research tool might help me build a case. I also think it could be useful when I need to compare my site with other sports sites. Of course it can work against me too!

Check it out.
