Check out our new “flash” video

Posted on Tuesday 9 October 2007

We just switched from Windows Media to flash to stream our video on colts.com, and beyond…

Flash will help our video run faster, cleaner and be viewed by a lot more people than Windows. And thanks to a nifty player (by Castfire) we can now offer video widgets…you can grab all our video, or just your favorite segments, and plunk a customized, constantly updated video player on your personal web page.

We just launched this puppy the other day, and already my Mensa-colleague, AJ Macht, has got it going viral!! Click on the “menu” button on the player…you can subscribe to this video fee from iTunes for goodness sake!

Above is video from our friend, Zack Legend, Colts fan. I grabbed the embed code off this page, and dropped it into my blog.

Watch the Zack video and notice the Canon sponsorship. Cool stuff, and a story for a future blog post. Also notice myindianafootball.com, our new site for High School teams in Indiana.

Brilliant move, Pat! This is amazing and the player is beautifully constructed. Well done!

Very cool that you’re onboard with Flash video! And Castfire is a great partner to be working with.

What bitrate are you guys using for your video? We’re at a lowly 350 (320 video 32 audio), but have heard others going as high as 600!

You’d have to ask AJ about the bitrate…and he’s the video guru around here, but I think we’re streaming at 700. From what I understand, there’s at least one other team at 1,000!

Very cool. Do you have any contact info you can email me on them? I tried filling out their contact form on their site and I’m not sure that worked.
