Our total number of registered mycolts.net users is up to almost 7,000. On the surface, it appears that everyone and his brother is uploading photos. Not counting profile photos, we have almost 9,500 photos uploaded into personal photo albums on the site. So we’ve got about 1.4 photos uploaded for every registered user in the community.
Digging a bit deeper, it appears most of this photo uploading activity is being done by a relatively small segment of our community:
There are 9490 photos that have been uploaded by 1051 users. 15% of our users account for 100% of the uploading activity. In fact, only 20% of users have uploaded a profile image of themselves. So, if we eliminate the fans who have not uploaded photos to albums and just look at the active uploaders, we jump to 9 photos uploaded per users.
At the top of the list there are 9 users that have loaded over 100 photos each.
One user is the top with 677 photos uploaded!
And how about viewing photos? Is anyone looking at these photo albums?
There have been 37,000 views of photo. A view is counted when someone other than the owner clicks on the thumbnail view to get to the larger view of the picture. This has been done by 1678 users (1 out of every 4 users has clicked to view at least one photo). Clearly there a lots of people looking at thumbnails. These views are not counted in this analysis.
There are 1289 photos with at least one or more comment, which means it has also been rated.
There are 2189 total comments and ratings on those photos.
There are 265 users that account for all of the photo comments.
Here’s a list of the most popular pages in mycolts (from Omniture) so far in July:
You can see that viewing photos and viewing albums are both in the top 10.
I took look at the Top 50 most viewed photos, and found that the most popular subjects for photos are as follows: self portraits, pets, travel, kids / family, colts spirit (i.e. tailgate shots, colts party shots, dressed in colts gear, Colts home decor), and of course Colts players.
