Back from Vacation and reading Tony Dungy

Posted on Tuesday 17 July 2007

Forgive me, Father…it has been 15 days since my last blog entry…and I must say I have been putting off my re-entry into the blogsphere. In fact, 12 straight days off work has a way of making me want MORE days off. Something about feeling happy, rested and peaceful everyday really has a way of getting to you.

I took some time to read Tony Dungy’s new book, “Quiet Strength” over the weekend and I highly recommend it. I plan to send copies to my Dad and brother. In the book, Coach Dungy shares the story of his life and the lessons he has learned along the way.

The bottom line for him, and I agree, is to do the little things well. To make good choices. And to listen to that “still, small voice” in your head (the Holy Spirit) that its telling you to do thing the RIGHT way. I spend too much time with that voice on “hold”. I’ve already renewed my efforts to spend my best waking hours on the best stuff…and leave the rest for later, which means this blog may have to be written on COMPANY time if I can get away with it :-)

Quick update:

MyColts.net is up to 5,000 registered users so far.

      Pat,

Since this blog is semi-responsible for promoting MyColts.net, then I think it’s justified that it be updated on company time.

Also, is 5000 users for MyColts.net at this juncture meeting the goals you’ve set?

Yes. 5,000 users is about what I expected and does meet my goals at this juncture. I’m hoping we can reach 50,000 - 100,000 registered users this season with 15,000 - 25,000 active weekly. It would be nice to double those…but I really have no idea how big this community can be.

I read that book as well. I have recommended it to several friends. You have some cute kids (I am assuming they are your kids).
