South by Southwest conference: I’ll be heading to Austin, TX tomorrow through Tuesday for the Interactive conference. I’m really looking forward to immersing in the culture at this show. Plus, I’ll be meeting a bunch of other NFL Internet guys down there, so we should have time to do some great brainstorming. I’ll try to blog from the show - which will be a first for me.

Colts are hiring - we’re looking for a .net developer, a videographer and a season long web design intern for our Web staff. Send resumes to me, please! (pdcoyle at gmail dot com).

MySpace Tech Woes - A while back I wrote a post about the Colts entering the software business (as we look to get other teams using our social networking application). I expressed concern over many things like - how to know how much load we can carry, and how to know what to charge - since we don’t know what kind of traffic / demand each new team will add. Here’s an article on how MySpace has face these challenges. Thanks to Jimmy Huen for sending this my way.

Amazon Simple Storage services - Jimmy also mentioned that Amazon might be able to help us as we grow. I remember reading about this service in Business 2.0 (I think). Has anyone out there used storage services from Amazon? I’d love to hear about your experiences.

MySpace down 10% - MIT professor sees new sites beating Myspace as time rolls on.

Microsoft and AP create video distirbution and ad platform - this could be huge! Follow the link for a video and a blog entry. Good stuff.
Pat, as you wish I’ve attached a link to Don MacAskill’s blog about how his startup SmugMug saved $500K a year after switching to S3. I’ve done some research on this topic and found Don’s writeup (and also the numerous comments) to be extremely helpful. I am also planning to use S3 for storage for my startup coming up late summer.
