I am home sick, which is why I didn’t post yesterday. Rather than letting another day pass with no new posts, thought I’d share these various items from the Super Bowl media file:

Here’s an interesting study from Hitwise

Super Bowl web effect

Here’s a bit of info from Nieslen

LOCAL MARKET RANKERS: Super Bowl
The Super Bowl ranked #1 in all NFL home markets. Each market not only benefited from the strength of the game rating but also from the strong delivery of the support programming. In most markets, the Super Bowl game, pre & post-games ranked #1 - #3 for the week of 1/29 - 2/4/07. Below, is a look at the game rating in all NFL home markets compared to the highest rated non-Super Bowl program. The difference between the Super Bowl game rating and the highest-rated non-Super-Bowl program ranged from 12.9 - 34.7 rating points.

The Tuesday & Wednesday editions of American Idol were the highest rated non Super Bowl programs in 18 NFL markets. For the most part, editions of American Idol ranked as the 4th highest-rated program in each NFL market. Criminal Minds, which followed the Super Bowl post-game, and Grey’s Anatomy, were the highest-rated non Super Bowl programs in six and five markets, respectively.
