At last we’ve published our Super Bowl contest for all to enjoy. The main purpose of this contest is to raise awareness for the upcoming My Colts Network launch, and to gather names and E mails from fans who want to be notified when My Colts Network social networking system goes live.

My original hope was to run a contest where fans would have to earn points inside our social networking system (My Colts Network) in order to qualify.
It was supposed to work like this: In honor of Super Bowl (41) we’d pick random winner from all members who had earned at least 41 points. But we could not get our new site up in time. Members will eventually earn points in various ways by contributing content and traffic to the My Colts Network. But for now, we’re forced to do a more customary “register to win” contest.
Still, there’s lots to learn and we will be seeking “opt in” behavior.
Here’s a link to the registration page. You can see that we ask a handful of marketing questions and offer fans ways to register for our weekly E newsletter, our special offers lists and and sign up to recieve news about the Fan Network.
There are various ways to find and join this contest.
1. Find our widget out there on the Web and click the contest link.
2. Visit our Website and click on one of the banner ads
3. Go directly to http://www.colts.com/superbowl
4. We’ll also send E mail to everyone who has pre-registered for My Colts Network already, and we’ll mention it in our other E mail newsletters too.
We’ll be using a campaign tracking feature inside Omniture, our Web analytics system, to learn which promotional tactics work best and to discover potential disconnects. For example, if there’s a particular question on our entry form that causes users to abandon, then we should be able to see that and we may choose to adjust our form.
Overall we expect this program to generate at least 25,000 entries over the next 3 weeks.
