OK. I’ve got the age breakouts, but I haven’t had time to do any analysis yet. So here’s the top line info. This chart shows the ages of the people who have signed up for My Colts Network

The chart below compares the ages of the My Colts survey respondents to our 2006 Season ticket holder file. It’s tough to read due to my graphics challenges, but you should be able to see the dramatic difference. Season ticket holders are considerably older. This is at once both an obvious result as well as a poignant reminder that our future fan base is already with us – on-line!

Here’s the age breakdown for MySpace
Finally, let’s put My Colts survey respondents together with Colts season ticket holders AND Myspace age profiles. Note how the My Colts and My Space ages track almost exactly EXCEPT in the 25-34 group where the MyColts spikes. What’s this all about???

Hi Pat,
Very interesting post, but if you can edit it so the graphs will be a little larger, it’s hard to read the numbers, i might have some thoughts to share, that is if i could see the numbers
This is pretty fascinating. There’s definitely some opportunity in this data! While your fan-base is young, your season ticket holders are older – perhaps a sign of disposable income or business write-offs. I think it points to how effective your strategy is to build a relationship with the younger folks now… in 10 years, they’ll be your best customers!
That’s a tough message to deliver in our world of ‘making a million overnight’ but it’s an important one. Perhaps it would be useful to build out a Season Ticket Fan Lifecycle. It would be fascinating to find out why they became Season Ticket holders, when they did, and the road they took to get there.
Doug
i have never seen this broken down like this before. These are amazing stats that i would have not thought of.

I'd love to see how this survey has changed over the years. Being a Colts fan myself, I honestly think demographics change, as teams win more, and more games.
